Can you imagine moving through your day and NOT thinking or worrying about food?
When was the last time you allowed yourself to eat what you wanted—without any sense of judgment, anxiety or fear?
Too often, people develop disordered eating habits while making efforts to be healthy. We can become consumed with food, health, and experience anxiety around doing the “right” thing. The intensive focus over trying to eat well actually ADD STRESS to the body and mind.
What does “relationship” with food mean?
The way we relate to food is what defines our relationship with food.
Many of us have developed disordered habits around food—mental, emotional, and/or physical. These habits often stem from childhood patterns and/or modeling, and are reinforced by society. We’re bombarded with this conditioning day after day!

To get a sense of how you relate to food right now, take a breath, and look at the image of the strawberries and donuts.
Looking at the screen, take a moment to notice each of these foods individually.
- How do you feel in your body when you look at and think about these foods?
- Are there any thoughts, feelings, or judgments about these foods? (Are you perceiving them as “good” or “bad”? Or “healthy” or “unhealthy?”)
- If you could reach through the screen and eat either of these foods in this moment, are there any body sensations that come up—and is it different for these two foods?
There’s no right or wrong. The goal is to be curious about your experience and gain awareness about what happens for you. If there’s some unsettling experience or contracted feeling when it comes to how you relate to food or health (anxiety or stress, for instance), then it’s worth taking a look at it. That’s why we’re here!
How it started.
The Mind Over Munch Small Group Coaching program developed out of my personal journey and battles with food and health. After a decade of struggling with yo-yo dieting, restriction, binge eating, obsession with health, and perpetual weight loss and gain, I finally found peace with food.

I have not dieted, restricted what I’m “allowed” to eat (gluten, sugar, dairy, etc.), or had a binge episode—and have maintained my weight for over two years now.
How did I do it?
Mindfulness.
You’ve probably heard about some of the benefits mindfulness and meditation, such as lowering stress and anxiety, and greater physical, mental, and emotional health.
Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment on purpose, without judgment.
I initially turned to mindfulness to address my anxiety; but over time, I noticed, unexpectedly, I was also relating to food quite differently. Instead of obsessing over and stressing about food, I was experiencing less judgment and concern—and actually started noticing what my food tastes like!

It wasn’t until later that I was able to look back and realize I was almost never present while eating. I was using food as a maladaptive coping mechanism to manage my stress, anxiety, and emotional pain.
I followed my passion for mindfulness to graduate school and became a trained expert in the field, and then brought it back to my love of food and health. I shifted my business and went from “health and nutrition coach” to “mindful wellness expert.” I stopped focusing on weight loss with clients (and myself) and interestingly, my clients (and myself) were still able to lose weight—but stopped gaining it back.
Most importantly, they didn’t care about the number on the scale anymore and were able to experience more ease in their own skin and joy with their food—while still prioritizing health.
My intention is to help you find peace with food (and with yourself), without having to figure it all out on your own.
The most mind-blowing part of all of this—it isn’t about the food. The food is a coping mechanism, and we need to address the root cause.

This requires a paradigm shift in the way you relate to food.
Program Overview
The Small Group Coaching program involves 6 LIVE facilitated sessions via Zoom that are 90-minutes each (along with a 7th Community Intention Session before the Program begins, which is 60-minutes).
The interactive sessions, which are facilitated by Alyssia, will involve group mindfulness practices, research and education about mindfulness and health, food practices and exercises (we will eat on Zoom together in most sessions), as well as homework assignments in between sessions.

What we'll cover.
In each session, you’ll learn tools and practices to develop greater mindfulness in your life, as well as methods and assignments to gain awareness about current habits in service of developing new ways of being in relationship with food.
This program is evidence-based, and draws from the latest contemplative neuroscience and mindfulness research, behavioral, humanistic, and health psychology, the science of taste satiety, as well as the development of emotional granularity and intelligence.

What's included.
As a participant, you’ll get access to:

There are no tiers or upsells, because this program is what it is—it is here to help you heal your relationship with food.
